Maumelle Campground.

We spent one night at this nice little campground nestled on the Arkansas River. We used it as a stopover on our trip to NW Arkansas. ( A way we were able to save some money vs. grabbing a hotel room.) We didn’t have very high expectations, but it was a really nice spot. Site B37 is in the picture. We stayed on E Loop, which was not directly on the river, but we liked the privacy of having nothing but forest behind us. The bathhouse was very clean. The site had Electric and Water Hookups We both agreed this is somewhere we would camp again if we were to be in Little Rock. It’s very convenient to town. There is a Big Kroger within 5 or 6 minutes, which made it super easy to just stop on the way in and grab groceries. There is also a Starbucks inside, so if you need your fix while camping, it’s easy to get it! Walmart is about 10 minutes from camp. There are also several restaurants in the area, so if you didn’t want to cook, it’s easy to go eat and be back to your site quickly.

It’s also conveniently located to some nice outdoor recreational spots. Two rivers park is 2 miles down the road. It’s a nice place to walk or ride a bike. And 2 miles in the other direction is Pinnacle Mountain state park, which has hiking trails with some awesome views, and mountain bike trails.

Overall a great spot to use as either just a quiet stop while passing through, or a basecamp to spend some time in Little Rock.
